DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Theatre Arts Department is a full-time academic and producing department with four full-time faculty, four classified staff and several adjunct faculty. The department is comprised of two distinct programs: Theatre Arts, a 10-month academic and producing program, and the Summer Repertory Theatre (SRT). COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Salary Range: $28,031 - $39,949 per semester (2008/09 Faculty Salary Schedule). Teaching experience, other related professional experience, and academic degrees determine salary placement on a schedule that is competitive with other California Community Colleges.
Fringe benefits: The District offers a competitive health & benefits package for employees and eligible dependents (benefits premiums are pro-rated for part-time employees).
Leave/Holiday time: Full-time faculty members earn one day of sick leave for each month worked and are entitled to holidays recognized by the District that fall within the regular academic year.

-Field Studies in Shakespearean Staging
-Master's Degree in Drama, Theatre Arts, or Performance; OR Bachelor's Degree in Drama, Theatre Arts or Performance AND Master's Degree in Comparative Literature, English, Speech, Literature or Humanities; OR the equivalent; OR possession of a fully satisfied (Life) California Community College Instructor's Credential in Theatre Arts and Related Technologies.
-Requires a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's in Fine Arts Degree in Theatre or Drama with an emphasis in Costume Design.
-Experience and expertise in theatre design, including costume, makeup and hair, technical theatre, graphics, and costume construction.
-Demonstrated ability to work closely and cooperatively with the variety of artists, technicians, and students involved in the art of the theatre.
-Evidence of strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills.
-Demonstrated ability to teach, supervise, and mentor students through design and construction of costumes, makeup and wigs for two mainstage productions.

Human Resources is located on the Santa Rosa campus in the Button Building at 1988 Armory Drive at the back of campus parallel to Highway 101. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
