Description: 

Trash Mash-Up is a community art project. Using disposable materials, collected before they enter the waste stream, participants construct “Maskostumes” which are original pageant masks and costumes inspired by traditions from around the world. This project reduces waste and inspires people to see each other and our environment in a new way.

School Partners: 

KIPP San Francisco Bay Academy, Safe Haven Program at the Buchanan YMCA, Western Addition Beacon Center at John Muir Elementary, Western Addition Reading Center which is a branch of the San Francisco Public Library, Power Girls located in the African American Art and Culture Complex, Urban Sprouts School Garden and Garden for the Environment, Community Partners United and Mo' Magic, Hamilton Recreation Center and Abraham Lincoln High School Drama Club
