Description:
Luna Kids Dance’s (LKD) work with schools is designed to identify, develop and support dance expertise from within the school community.  Model dance classes taught by LKD teaching artists are structured as side-by-side coaching and learning opportunities for the classroom teacher, dance or P.E. specialist.  School site workshops are structured to provide an initial understanding of creative dance and a context for establishing realistic goals in dance education.  Parent-child dance classes are community events that bring the parents into the inquiry about dance in a school setting.  Planning and assessment services allow schools to strategize dance programming appropriate to their school’s needs and interests.
